You can find real satisfaction in the lovely effects you can achieve with stencils and acrylic paints. Stencils are usually thought of as just simple repeat patterns mostly used to decorate something, such as a border on walls.
But stencils can also help you create far more interesting multi-layered effects. The Layering Stencils Tote Bags workshops have been very popular and everyone has gone home pleased with their piece of ‘wearable’ (or usable) Art.
As long as you use the right paint you can stencil on any surface… as long as it’s smooth!
I have been asked many times to show people how to make my paper roses. I say ‘my’ paper roses because although the technique is not mine, the hand painted paper and the cut petal shapes are my own design. So you can rest assured ALL Painted Paper Roses are unique in their subtle colour variations!
So in this workshop I show how to make these beautiful Paper Roses, including a Bud and Leaves, and how to make the cardstock Frame.
I provide the kit of hand painted paper petals* and leaves that I have prepared for each attendee and show you how to colour the edges with inks, curl the petals and put the whole thing together using a hot glue gun.
At the end participants also make a simple box for the finished item.
These paper roses make wonderful gifts for any occasion (especially Mother’s Day).
* You will need to choose your rose colour when booking your place – Dark Pink, Light Pink, Blue, Yellow/peach! All Frames will be white.
